Over the years, I collected a lot of officially released tourbooks and programmes. I listed all tourbooks and programmes from my collection below. If you have any Mark Knopfler related tourbook or programme that is missing in my collection and are willing to sell it or trade it for material from my bootleg collection, please contact me and maybe we can have a nice trade.

| Year | 1980 / 1981 | |
| Number of pages | 24 | |
| Comments | The tourdates page runs to March 1981 (Wellington, New Zealand). This information is not correct as the tourbook of the next tour (Love over Gold) says that Wellington was in fact not played at all on this tour. The last dates in March 1981 were the nights at the Festival Theatre, Adelaide, Australia. |

The tourdates
page runs to April 1981 (Tokyo, Japan). This information is not correct as
the tourbook of the next tour (Love over Gold) says that there were no
Japanese concerts on this tour. In April 1981, there were only concerts in
Australia and New Zealand. The tour was also longer than mentioned in the
tourbook as it officially ended on 6th July 1981 at the
Hall Omnisports, Luxembourg,
Luxembourg. Compared to the other tourbook of this tour, there are lots of differences in pictures. |

| Year | 1982 / 1983 | |
| Number of pages | 24 | |
| Comments |
The tourdates
page from this version runs to 21st December 1982 (Wembley Arena, London, UK). In fact, the tour was
longer and ended on 23rd July 1983
(one of the two recording nights for the official "Alchemy" album). This
is obviously a tour book from the 1982 part of the tour. Remarkable note at the credits page: "There are no pre-recorded tapes used during the Dire Straits concert performance". And a comment for the Record Company Phonogram UK LTD: "Our special thanks to the above for the compact disc and no player..." Remarkable to see Phonogram already had a CD given away in 1982! |

| Event | "Live Aid" | |
| Date | 13th July 1985 | |
| Number of pages | 192 | |
| Comments | Live Aid was a multi-venue rock music concert held on 13th July 1985 at Wembley Stadium, London, UK. The event was organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure in order to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia. Billed as the 'global jukebox', the main sites for the event were Wembley Stadium, London (attended by 72.000 people) and JFK Stadium, Philadelphia (attended by about 90.000 people), with some acts performing at other venues such as Sydney and Moscow. It was one of the largest-scale satellite link-ups and television broadcasts of all time: an estimated 1.5 billion viewers, across 100 countries, watched the live broadcast. Dire Straits played at 18:00 p.m.(Sultans of Swing and Money for Nothing with Sting). After their Live Aid performance, Dire Straits literally walked across the car pak to the nearby Wembley Arena for their own concert which was part of their Brothers in Arms world tour. |

| Event | "The Prince's Trust Rock Gala" | |
| Date | 4th July 1985 | |
| Number of pages | 24 | |
| Comments |
During the Brothers in Arms
world tour, Dire Straits played 13 consecutive sell out concerts at Wembley
Arena, London, UK. The first of these 13 shows, 4th July 1985, was
for the charity of The Prince's Trust. At this show, Prince Charles and
Princess Diana were present. The book features some background information
about the Prince's Trust and many companies and people that are
congratulating Dire Straits. One of the nicest things is the text by Prince
Charles at the beginning of the book: "As President of The Prince's Trust, I am extremely grateful to the artists and their management for agreeing to give the proceeds of tonight's concert to my Trust. I would like to thank most warmly all those who have contributed their time and effort in producing this Gala. Finally my best wishes go to all the members of Dire Straits for a happy and successful world tour." Charles. |

It is in fact the same as the normal 1985 edition of the tourbook, but without the pages with dates from previous concerts, promo add for Philips Compact Disc, promo add for Alchemy video and the merchandise page. The version I have is signed by the 1985 band: Mark Knopfler, John Illsley, Alan Clark, Guy Fletcher, Terry Williams and Chris White. Only Jack Sonni's autograph is missing. |

See poster #2: in this competition one could win a dream holiday for two in Montserrat, the island where Brothers in Arms was recorded.

| Event | "Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute" | |
| Date | 11th June 1988 | |
| Number of pages | 64 | |
| Comments |
Official
programme for the Nelson Mandela tribute.
Wembley Stadium on 11th June 1988 was the venue
for a unique gathering of musicians and performers from all over the world
who under the banner of Artists Against Apartheid paid tribute to Nelson
Mandela for his 70th Birthday. An audience estimated to be well over half a
billion people in some 63 countries participated in an event with a simple
compelling message: "Free Nelson Mandela". Dire Straits appeared as the
closing act of that unforgettable day with Eric Clapton on second guitar.
Text from Mark Knopfler in the programme: "In 1979, Dire Straits' first album was no.1 in many countries in the world, including South Africa. When the band donated their South African royalties to Amnesty International, and released a statement condemning apartheid, we were banned by the Government's broadcasting authorithy, a response which Dire Straits regard to this day as a very great compliment. Since then, Dire Straits have been a major supporter of the world movement to end the apartheid regime in South Africa. We are proud to be part of this day." Mark Knopfler. Dire Straits was the first band who were asked to participate in this special event and immediately agreed. The back cover of this programme shows all album covers of Dire Straits and says: "No DS, no commitment". |

| Tour | "25th anniversary" world tour | |
| Year | 1988 / 1989 | |
| Number of pages | 36 | |
| Comments |
In 1988 and 1989,
Mark Knopfler was part of Eric Clapton's band and did a world tour. This
book features Clapton's history and a lot of photos including a nice band
picture of the band for this tour. Besides Mark Knopfler, Alan Clark was also a
member of the band. This programme is from 1988. Unsure if also a 1989
version was made for the final part of this tour. I have two different versions of this 1988 tour programme. There are four pages which contain different photos. |

| Event | "Music for Montserrat" | |
| Date | 15th September 1997 | |
| Number of pages | 60 | |
| Comments | Some of rock music's biggest stars performed at this benefit concert at the Royal Albert Hall (London, UK) on 15th September 1997 to raise money for the volcano-ravaged Caribbean island of Montserrat. The concert has been organised by Sir George and Lady Martin together with Harvey Goldsmith to raise funds for the victims of the Soufriere volcano on the island of Montserrat which has been in a continuous state of eruption since July 1993. The explosion in June 1997 killed 19 people and rendered 1500 homeless. Mark Knopfler was one of the artists and played Wild Theme (Local Hero), Brothers in Arms and Money for Nothing together with Sting. Mark Knopfler also played guitar on the songs of Sting, Elton John, Eric Clapton and Paul McCartney. |

| Event | "The Opera House at Boothbay Harbor welcomes Mark Knopfler" | |
| Date | 20th September 2006 | |
| Number of pages | 20 | |
| Comments | For this chairty concert that Mark Knopfler did, a small programme was made. It's a very simple booklet, only the front and back cover is in colour, the rest is in black and white. It features biographies of Mark Knopfler, Guy Fletcher, Richard Bennett and Glenn Worf, a story about the Opera House and a list of sponsors. The Opera House was at risk of being demolished and needed a lot of money to save the building. One of the things to raise money, was a special one-off concert of Mark Knopfler and his band. The concert took place at The Opera House, Boothbay Harbor, USA, 20th September 2006. |

| Comments | The Variety Club have presented Mark Knopfler with their highest accolade, the Silver Heart, at a special Tribute Lunch held at the Civic Centre in Newcastle-upon-Tyne on 19th October 2006. Filmed tributes were also featured from various contributors including Eric Clapton, Sting, Emmylou Harris and Lord David Puttnam. The event also had a special programme, which included things such as a special thank you by Mark Knopfler, the menu, time table, a list of items for auction and congratulations by Paul Crockford. |
