Fairly good sounding recording, taken from master cassette tapes. There is some tape hiss though. Just take a look at the setlist, a lot of rare songs! This is the only recording in my collection with Dire Straits playing So far away during the On every street tour. They played it instead of Heavy fuel, which is really rare! It almost seems that they only played it once as a try-out in Birmingham and then decided to skip it forever and play Heavy fuel instead for the rest of the tour. I have heard a rumour that So far away was also played at another show during the On every street tour (maybe at one of the other Birmingham concerts I don't have?), but that mystery can only be cleared when this show comes to the surface one day (if there was made any recording at all!). So, at this point this is the only known recording with So far away. Also rare versions of I think I love you too much and Setting me up. Complete concert. A must have recording in my opinion. |
