Additional info
John Suhr contacted me in July 2011, mentioning that it was him who built this guitar. It's not a Fender body like most think, the Fender decal on the headstock makes that misleading. Click here to find more details about this guitar, taken from an interview with John Suhr in 1986.

During the Brothers in arms tour, Mark used this guitar in 1986 for Sultans of swing, Waltzing Mathilda and Going home. Mark also used this guitar to play Expresso love at the David Letterman show, 30th September 1985 and on The bug (studio and live) during the On every street tour 1991-1992. Later, Mark used it again for some versions of Let it all go during the Kill to get crimson promotion tour in 2007.

The guitar was also featured in a lot of magazines. Click here for two nice magazine covers here and here for a separate photo. In 1991, a miniature model of this guitar was made for the Calling Elvis video clip.

The picture on the left is taken in Wellington, New Zealand on 4th March 1986. See here a nice picture taken in Christchurch, New Zealand, 7th March 1986.
