Additional comments DVD-Video featuring a very rare video from the warm up for the Mandela show in 1988. On 11th June 1988, Dire Straits appeared on the Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute in Wembley Stadium, London. To be fully prepared as the major act of that day, Dire Straits decided to play two special concerts in Hammersmith Odeon, London. The concerts were played on 8th and 9th June, just before the big Nelson Mandela concert. The management of Dire Straits had decided that tickets would only be available for members of the Dire Straits Information Service (DSIS). Tickets were just 10 Pounds and the money went towards the costs of putting on the Wembley show, so more money could be given to the charities. This video is from the second warm-up gig. Great performance by the band who obviously enjoy to play together. The video quality is good, sometime a little bit blur and shaky. The sound quality is very good. They played two songs which they did not play during the Mandela Tribute at Wembley Stadium: Tunnel of love and Going home.
